The Life Of A Soldier

So I have been searching around on a few blogs during my spare time and have found a very interesting post I would like to share. It was about being stationed in Iraq. It was just a simple question about what I thought it would be like that caught my attention. To tell you the truth as much as I want to protect our country and give everyone here and in other places a peaceful life I dont think i would ever be able to imagine how hard it is for these people. For the young kids who get sent out who haven’t even seen half of their life yet, that have wives and young kids they are leaving behind and who’s lives can end just while they are driving a long the road and a bomb goes off. I would not be able to leave all that behind knowing there is a chance that I may never come home to see my family and friends again. The life in Iraq would also be very hard. You would have to go out knowing you will probably end up killing another human and knowing that someone could be watching you, waiting to plan their attack. They are now saying on the news that the Palestinians are watching the Canadians drive by and that they are keeping track of when they go so they can use road side bombs to kill them. The deaths are also rising very largely these days. I could just imagine sitting somewhere hidding out ready to plan an attack or lying in a hospital bed. These are just some of my thoughts. What do you think?

  1. WOW! I really like your blog. I like it because i my self want to be a soilder when i grow up. I was plaining to go as soon as i turn 16 but i have to have my parents sign and my dad doesn’t want to but my mom would. So then i decide to wait till im 18.Hearing every thing that happens when you return from war makes me think things over again about going to war. Return tramitized is something i just dont want.

  2. WOW THAT REALLY SAD AND AMUZING. WELL MY BESTFRIEND WANTS TO GO TO WAR AND I TELL HER NOT TO BUT SHE DOESN’T LISTEN TO ME. MAYBE IF SHE READS THIS SHE WILL ACTIUALLY OVER THINK ABOUT GOING TO IRAQ. NICE BLOG :)

  3. Nice blog and you are right. Going to irak is a sacrifice that people make to protect everyone in the USA. People go off not knowing if they will return safly, not return, or come back tramitized. Not only our country dose that but other countries. I myself for shure do not want to go to the Army at all.
